Huda leads Accenture’s UKI Capital Projects and Infrastructure Practice and is passionate about ensuring critical infrastructure maximises benefits for people, supports the planet and keeps it safe for future generations. Huda’s 20 year career experience to date has included government, having worked at the Infrastructure and Projects Authority (IPA) which reports to both Cabinet office an HM Treasury where she co- authored the Construction Playbook which sets out key policies and guidance for how major public works projects and programmes are assessed, procured and delivered to include innovation and delivery sustainability. Prior to that Huda worked for a Big Four consultancy where she was recruited to deliver work on critical national infrastructure programmes such the London 2012 Olympics, Network Rail, National Grid, Thames Tideway Tunnel and others. Huda’s purpose is to encourage the use of technology and digitisation to support a sustainable, inclusive diverse and productive infrastructure and construction sector. She is a Chartered civil engineer.

She has 25years experience in the water and environmental sector and since 2018 is Director of Project Delivery in Infrastructure and Projects Authority in the Cabinet Office where her portfolio is Public and Security Services including joint lead with Government Digital Service on functional support for all government Transformation programmes. Alison leads the Cabinet Office response to Project Speed in the areas of social infrastructure build and is lead Director on Net Zero and Sustainable Development Goals for the whole Government Major Projects Portfolio. Alison is a graduate of the government’s Major Projects Leadership Academy and Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers. She was awarded a CBE for services to the environment, New Year’s Honours 2019. She lives on the North Downs with her family and her dog.

Ahmed comes from a Civil Engineering background and spent the first half of his career working in the Railway Industry delivering high profile projects. He is now supporting the delivery Quintains largest development known as the North East Lands working closely with the Principal Contractor. Ahmed has been pivotal in forming the Infrastructure strategy for both current and future developments at Quintain. Harbinder is an Architect and Creative Director of Birdi & Partners a London based design consultancy that advises government bodies and the private sector on the design of major infrastructure projects. He was the Principal Architect for the design of three of the stations for the Stirling Prize winning, Elizabeth Line and was also the Principal Architect for the central section of Thames Tideway Tunnel. He is a Professor at the University of Cambridge,  teaching on the Master of Design Tripos, a course that combines the study of engineering, architecture, material science and the arts.  He is a fellow of the RIBA, ICE and RSA .

Over the past 15 years at the Major Projects Association Manon has been involved in every aspect of delivering the vision of the Association: from the production of thought leadership publications to the development of the Major Project Knowledge Hub. She has a keen understanding of the barriers to major project success. Her knowledge of the systemic issues underlying the root causes of major project delivery and initiation is founded on more than a decade of involvement with members, PhD researchers and communication with members throughout the supply chain. ​ ​ This knowledge led her to establish the Major Projects Association’s Gender Balance initiative which frames the issue of diversity as a challenge for the whole sector to improve performance. In this capacity Manon Chairs the Infrastructure Client Group Equality, Diversity and Inclusion group. She is also a member of the Advisory Board for the Women in Construction Summit, serves on the Steering Committee of UCL research study into women in major projects leadership and is a mentor to similar work being undertaken at the University of Sussex. This work in Gender Balance and EDI led Manon to establish her own Gender Balance consultancy – Strength to Strength. ​ ​ Manon is a competitive drug-free powerlifter. In the 16 years that she has been competing she has won 13 World Championships, 9 European Championships and held 7 World Records and a host of British titles and records. Clare is an Engineering Geologist with twenty five years’ experience working primarily on railway embankments and cuttings. She spent nearly ten years working as a designer with Donaldson Associates Ltd. in Glasgow and York followed by fourteen years with Network Rail’s Geotechnical Route Asset Management team, also based in York. In early 2023 Clare moved to a Principal Programme Engineer role with Network Rails’ Eastern Region Regional Engineering team and is tasked with ensuring that the response to recommendations from accident investigations provide the improvement outcomes intended.

Darren Capes has over 35 years’ experience working in local and central Government. He is a Fellow of the IET and IHE and worked in most areas of municipal engineering with emphasis on design, construction, evaluation, transport planning, and technology development and implementation. Jenny McLaughlin has worked within the airport industry for over 20 years. This began at East Midlands Airport as an Environment and Safeguarding Officer achieving ISO14001. The last 17 years have been at Heathrow Airport in a number of departments including Environment, Airside and now Infrastructure. Jenny has delivered a number of business changes, from new aircraft de-icing process, introducing new IT applications, building a new Air Traffic contingency facility, to significant maintenance work to the Northern runway. Jenny is dyslexic and has ADHD and believes that “the way that my brain is wired differently is an asset”. Kim Thomson serves as Kier’s Diversity and Inclusion Manager, spearheading the D&I strategy and action plan for the Group. With over eight years of experience in emerging talent, recruitment, and D&I, she previously dedicated her expertise to charitable organisations, focusing on volunteering and engagement policies. Kim is especially passionate about positive action programmes, having revitalised the now award-winning Making Ground programme, which supports prison leavers and individuals with unspent convictions in securing sustainable and rewarding employment.

Matt leads the project management team on the transformation of the 85 acre development at Wembley Park, with specific responsibility for design management, procurement and construction. Matt’s role includes the establishment of contractor framework, commercial and contractual negotiation of development and infrastructure contracts, programme and quality management and the implementation of site wide logistics strategy. Over the last 10 years Matt has successfully delivered residential, commercial, hotel, retail, infrastructure and public realm projects totaling 2.6m sq ft and at present is managing the construction of over 3,500 homes, Infrastructure and public realm.

Graham has been involved with CIC since 1989. Initially, as a member of the Council, it’s Executive Board and then as a Director. He was appointed Chief Executive and Secretary in October 1991. Prior to joining CIC, Graham was Chief Executive of the British Institute of Architectural Technologists (a member of CIC) from 1983. Graham is responsible for the general policy and direction of the Council, for maintaining effective communication with Government, other external agencies and with members and for establishing and maintaining the CIC Secretariat and office. Graham is an Honorary Fellow of RIBA, CIBSE, CABE, ICWCI, BIID, CICES and the Faculty of Building and an Honorary Member of the RICS and CIAT. He was awarded the President’s Medal of the CIOB in 2000 and the Peter Stone Award of the Association of Building Engineers in 1996. Graham is currently a director of CIC Approved Inspectors Register (CICAIR Ltd); Construction Umbrella Bodies (Holdings) Ltd; the Considerate Constructors’ Scheme; and Constructionarium Ltd. He was a Visiting Professor at the University of Northumbria for twelve years from 2000. He has been Secretary of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Excellence in the Built Environment since 2010. Graham is a member of the Industry Response Group, set up by the MHCLG in the immediate aftermath of the Grenfell Tower tragedy and Chaired the Competence Working Group set up to assist Dame Judith Hackitt’s Review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety. Following the report publication he is now Chair of the Steering Group charged with implementing the recommendations on improving competence for all those engaged in designing, construction, managing and maintaining higher-risk residential buildings, this includes oversight of the competence work being carried out in the Fire and Rescue Services. Graham had a long involvement in the sport of fencing and his competitive career culminated with a Commonwealth Medal in 1990. In 1992, he captained the British Sabre team at the Barcelona Olympic Games. He was the Manager of the British Fencing Team from 1996 and the Performance Director of the British Olympic Fencing Team for 10 years from 2000 to 2010, and Team Leader at the 2004 and 2008 Olympics Games. Outside of CIC, he is an established international dance writer and critic. He is a member of The Critics’ Circle, the UNESCO Dance Council, Dance UK and the Society of Dance Research. He has been Chairman of the Dance Section of the Critics’ Circle since 2009 and of the National Dance Awards since 2010. In 2012, he was author of Daria Klimentová’s Autobiography “Agony and Ecstasy: My Life in Dance.

Judging Process

To get in front of the judges make sure you enter today.

Each category has its own independent panel of judges, made up of major clients and industry figures, who review entries to determine the shortlist and conduct live presentations, to select the winners for that category.  

Each stage is designed to provide a fair and transparent process. Please note if you are chosen as a finalist by our judges you will need to present to our judging panel. The final dates per category will be published soon.

Stage 1:  Online Judging – once the entry phase closes, the judges will review online and score each submission to determine the shortlist.

Stage 2:  Live Presentations – once the shortlist is announced, all finalists will be invited to give a presentation to our judging panel. This will take place from 30 April – 9 May 2025 at our central London office:
