Dan is currently the Strategic Social Value Lead at AtkinsRéalis, a world leading design, engineering and project management organisation. Dan is responsible for ensuring the organisations operations directly benefit local communities, and that socio-economic opportunities are identified from a projects inception through to delivery and that measurable outcomes are realised. Prior to AtkinsRéalis, Dan was the Strategic Lead for Education and Skills at D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership. Dan has also held senior positions with both national and regional charities. Dan is a trained Social Value Practitioner, Career Guidance Practitioner and has proudly been appointed as the Regional Employer Chair for the West Midlands Combined Authority, Vice Chair of the Connected Futures Partnership Board in the East Midlands, and sits on a number of strategic employment and advisory boards across the UK. Growing up on a council estate in Nottingham, Dan is passionate about levelling the playing field for all, and is an advocate for both social mobility and inclusive recruitment.
