Carolyn McKenzie is an environment and sustainability professional with over 20 years experience. She Chairs of the Association of Directors of Environment, Economy, Planning and Transport (ADEPT) Environment Board, sits on the National Steering Group for Natural England’s National Nature Reserves and has recently been appointed Chair of the Greater South East Net Zero Hub (GSENZH) Southern Board and Member of the main GSENZH Board.
Carolyn, as Director for Environment and Planning at Surrey County Council since 2020 is responsible for leading and driving the development, high level agreement and operational delivery of strategy for Place, including environment, transport, climate and sustainability strategy in Surrey. Carolyn also co leads work with Public Health at Surrey, making the links between environment and health to work towards better outcomes for residents through positively impacting the wider determinants of health and ensuring no resident in Surrey is left behind.
