Mark is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of both ICE and CIHT. He has spent the majority of his career in Local Government ending up as an Executive Director at Hertfordshire County Council. Mark is a past President of ADEPT and represents them on the UK Roads Leadership Board and the DfT Transport and Innovation Board and currently chairs the UK Network Management Board. Mark has also been a Member of the ORR Roads Experts Panel. Mark continues to be involved in the industry through part time work with, amongst others, WSP.
