Dr Alistair Hitchcock is a Chartered Civil Engineer with over 25 years’ experience in the research, design and delivery of transportation infrastructure projects. Having gained an Engineering Doctorate at the University of Southampton, Alistair has led design teams on numerous major projects including Crossrail, Melbourne Metro, London Underground station capacity upgrades and HS2. He has been Head of Engineering at HS2 Ltd since 2021 and currently leads the development of the Northern Powerhouse Rail project. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers where he has been a Professional Reviewer for the past 10 years. Alistair is also a member of the GIRI (Get It Right Initiative) Strategic Leadership Group and a member of the steering group for the new PAS 4010 on Productivity.
