Impact in Structures
Align Property Partners
Align is committed to technical excellence, sustainable growth, and a people-first approach. Over the last decade, we have grown from a small team to over 160 employees across five offices, increasing revenue by £2 million and doubling gross profit in the past 18 months. Our expertise is demonstrated through key projects such as the North Northallerton Primary School and the Catterick Levelling Up Fund (LUF) development. The £7 million Northallerton school project, completed in June 2024, provided a high-quality, energy-efficient educational facility. A ‘fabric-first’ approach maximised sustainability, while innovative structural solutions reduced material costs and embodied carbon. The £21 million Catterick LUF project, set for completion in 2026, is regenerating the town centre with infrastructure improvements and sustainable design. Engineering solutions have reduced costs and environmental impact, ensuring long-term viability. These projects highlight Align’s ability to deliver innovative, high-quality engineering solutions that create lasting community benefits.
FC Civils Solution with EKFB
Set up in 2021, FCCS was pivotal in the redesign of HS2’s 900m Thame Valley Viaduct, developing a new predominantly prefabricated solution that saved carbon, time, cost and was safer to construct. In the last 18 months, staff numbers and turnover have doubled. FCCS is now working on four viaducts on HS2 and has played a key role in capturing and sharing lessons learned across both our own projects and those of the wider HS2 scheme. Originally conceptualised in Spain, the development of the design for the UK market and compliance with British Standards and environmental regulations has been an innovative transition and has paved the way for its wider use across the country. In a nation suffering from ever higher costs of major infrastructure, this type of “off-the-shelf” viaduct with its excellent sustainability credentials offers a huge potential for future improvement.
Kilnbridge
Over the past 18 months, Kilnbridge has successfully transitioned from a midsize operator to a major player among Building and Civil Engineering subcontractors. By strategically deploying its in-house structural services to complement its civil engineering and design capabilities, the contractor is now integral to the delivery of some of the most prestigious and high-profile projects in the UK’s built environment. The success of this strategy has led to the delivery of the firm’s largest and most complex projects in its history, achieved against a background of challenging macroeconomic circumstances and shifting political priorities in the built environment. It also can look back on two full financial years in its new Employee Ownership structure; in December 2024 it paid out a third sequential EO bonus to employees. Kilnbridge’s forecasted turnover for its 2025 fiscal year is projected to reach £150m, and its total secured order book has surpassed £250m.
