Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Leader – Contractor

Danny Sullivan Group

Danny Sullivan Group (DSG) is driving real change in Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) within the civil engineering industry. Through strategic partnerships, innovative training programs, and cultural awareness initiatives, we are shaping a more inclusive workforce. Our work with SCS (Skanska Costain Strabag) includes delivering industry-leading EDI training, while our Speed Mentoring sessions with local girls' schools help inspire the next generation of female engineers. We also champion religious inclusivity, leading initiatives around Ramadan and Eid awareness, including workplace adjustments, panel discussions, and community engagement. Our bi-annual EDI forums and commitment to fostering a diverse talent pipeline demonstrate our leadership in this space. At DSG, inclusion isn’t a tick-box exercise—it’s the foundation of our business. We are proud to be at the forefront of EDI in construction, ensuring that every individual has the opportunity to belong and thrive.

Murphy

Murphy was founded in 1951 and is a family-owned civil engineering company. Our initiative is our ‘People & Social Value Strategy’ the goal of which is to create ‘A great place to work where people feel secure and comfortable to be themselves’. Respect, Integrity and Accountability is one of our five core values, and we believe (and know from the results) that EDI is only truly embedded once this ‘secure and comfortable’ feeling is created permanently. To achieve this, our strategy is uniquely holistic - spanning across our business as well as the wider sector and the communities in which we work. Our long-term strategy takes an innovative and wide-ranging approach to effect real change on a sustained basis. Its measures are directly linked to business performance with proven and sustainable results.
