Changemaker 3D

Multi-Award winning ChangeMaker 3D worked in partnership with United Utilities, Manchester Metropolitan University and Scottish Water to develop our ‘Water Industry Printfrastructure’.This project was 90% funded by Ofwat’s Innovation Fund to grow the water sector’s capacity to innovate, enabling it to better meet the evolving needs of customers, society and the environment. In a first for the water industry, United Utilities hosted a 3D concrete Printfrastructure hub based on a live wastewater treatment works. Using CM3D patented designs, assets such as manhole rings, circular CSO chambers and IED walls, for use in the sector, were printed in a matter of hours compared to the several days it would take using traditional methods. Our Printfrastructure Hub showcased the benefits to other water companies, construction partners and other industries including the use of mobile robots and lower carbon materials from the Printfrastructure supply chain.

VJ Technology

The VJ iStore® digital solution brings a warehouse to any construction site in bespoke modular shipping containers to act as vending machines, so fast-paced infrastructure projects can be fed a constant supply of their most used products that can be clicked and collected in a matter of minutes, directly on-site at the point of need. Products are available 24/7 which in turn significantly increases site productivity. Items are paid for once they have been collected, positively impacting cashflow. The iStore is replenished once every 10 to 14 days as managed by the active digital stock control system, resulting in an up to 70% reduction in carbon emissions previously caused by daily deliveries to site. Other benefits include reduction in process cost, 24/7 access to products, reduced loss and theft from busy sites, no delivery delays and less issues with site restrictions for deliveries.
