Mia brings a unique perspective to judging the NCE Awards 2027, combining a technical background in civil engineering with expertise in social sustainability, skills development, community engagement and diversity and inclusion. Mia spent the first 5 years of her career in small structural engineering consultancies before joining the Lower Thames Crossing in 2021. She now focuses on widening access to construction careers, building industry partnerships and creating pathways into meaningful employment, and established the project’s first Skills Hub in Gravesham. Mia has also chaired the Lower Thames Crossing’s Multicultural Network since joining the project, championing diverse talent and leading events that celebrate inclusion across the industry. Her combination of technical understanding, industry experience and commitment to social value enables her to bring an inclusive, people-focused perspective to recognising excellence, innovation and positive impact across the construction sector.
