Mike Wilson has been Executive Director for Safety, Engineering and Standards and Chief Highways Engineer at National Highways since September 2013. His responsibilities include the provision of technical leadership to the organisation, including the development of standards, advice and assurance for all aspects of highway maintenance, operation and improvement. He also leads for the organisation on all aspects of worker and user safety, quality, environment and asset management. Previously, Mike was Regional Director responsible for the maintenance, improvement and long-term development of the strategic road network in the South West, East Midlands and East. Mike also on all aspects of operational policy including for maintenance, incident and emergency management and network occupancy.
