Ian is the Environment Agency’s (EA) Chief Engineer, a Chartered Civil Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers with over 30Yrs experience in flood and coastal risk management. He leads the EA Asset Management service and its Technical Authority, asset management strategy, systems, data and engineering standards, working towards carbon neutral construction resilient to flooding and coastal change. Ian is chair of the British Standards Institution (BSi) Flood and Watercourse Committee and a member of the Government Construction Board; Chair of the National Engineering and Innovation Panel; and leads the EA international collaboration on engineering matters.
