Barry is a Chartered Civil Engineer with 30 years experience in the delivery of transportation projects, predominantly across UK and Irish infrastructure. With a career in consultancy, Barry has been responsible for the direction, development and transformation of more than £30 billion of major project portfolios. Since establishing Odvantage Ltd in 2015, Barry has worked alongside fellow start-ups and SMEs to positively shape project delivery arrangements in an ever evolving digital age, in partnership with National Highways and their established supply chains. Operating in a variety of Executive and Non-Executive positions, Barry has been fortunate to have held Project Director roles on investments as diverse as public realm improvements and major redevelopments across local government, through to transformational major programmes with sub-national and national transport organisations, including National Highways Roads Investment Strategy. A passionate advocate for shaping significantly better societal outcomes through civil engineering, Barry is a former advisor of Transport for London’s Independent Investment Programme Advisory Group (IIPAG), and currently holds independent advisory posts with the Irish Government’s Major Projects Advisory Group (MPAG) and Isle of Man Government’s Major Projects Board (MPB).
